At maiden 1XBET E-hub Awards: Area Manager urges youth to dream big, embrace innovation.

The celebrated entrepreneur and philanthropist made the call on Friday January 5. This was during the maiden 1XBET E-hub Awards. The grandiose event, rich in pomp, took place at the Yaounde Conference Centre. 

It was attended by several dignitaries including administrative authorities, the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o and former Cote d’Ivoire football team captain, Serey Die, amongst others.

The maiden edition of the 1XBET Awards recognised the top three contestants of the 1XBET E-hub in the four different categories. The winners of the Hackathon also received their prizes.

Tchatchoung Celeo emerged victorious in innovative technology, Billong Louis Pierre in the Education category, Oumarou Adelphe triumphed in Agriculture and Tagou Collins was the best choice in Climate.

The various winners shared the sum of 50 million FCFA. The first person received 3 million FCFA while the second and third bagged home 2 million FCFA and 1.5 million FCFA respectively.

Other contestants who took part in the competition but missed out were also rewarded by 1XBET during the award ceremony.

According to the Area Manager of 1XBET Africa, Steven Nbienou Kouadjo, the maiden edition of the 1XBET E-hub Awards registered resounding success.

“We are just at the first edition. We had an amazing night. It was our first test for this first edition. We have drawn the positives which we hope to ameliorate in our next editions. But for this maiden edition, I am happy and satisfied. We continue to support Cameroonian entrepreneurship,” Kouadjo said.

Kouadjo told the youth “to continue dreaming big even to certain things they think are not achievable.” 

He stressed on the fact that “it is by dreaming that we can realise certain things in life. The Cameroonian youth must change their mind-set, think of innovative projects because the projects which are already known do not add value”.

Winners overwhelmed by prizes 

Reacting to the media, the various winners of the 1XBET E-hub were overwhelmed.

According to Tchatchouang Celeo, first prize winner in the category of innovative technology through his project “Nextcis systeme”, the 1XBET E-hub, was an enriching experience.

The biomedical engineer, who is passionate about technology, promised to use the knowledge, skills and resources acquired to improve on his award-winning project. 

His project, he told The Guardian Post, “is intended to notify all the security services who can have access to the place and localisation of a tragedy like a fire outbreak. This will ensure that they can rapidly find their way to the area where they are needed to do what they are certain to do to maintain our security.”

It is worth mentioning that the 1XBET E-hub was launched in October 2022. This initiative, which aims at revolutionising entrepreneurship in Cameroon, was the brainchild of Steven Nbienou Kouadjo. 

The life-changing project represents a strong desire and signal of 1XBET to support Cameroonian entrepreneurship. The various winners shall benefit from a six-month incubation period.

Enter Minister Achille Bassilekin III

Speaking at the close of the ceremony, the Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, Achille Bassilekin III, commended 1XBET for the initiative.

The minister said 1XBET has placed a huge bet on youth entrepreneurship by organising a successful competition. He said that the prizes which were awarded to the winners will help them enable their projects to thrive beyond unprecedented levels.

Through this competition, the minister said, participants were able to demonstrate their savoir-faire and their efforts to suggest solutions to certain societal challenges in the domains of agriculture, innovative technology and others.

The member of government mentioned that his ministry is ready to collaborate with 1XBET in order to participate to boost entrepreneurship in the country. 

He seized the occasion to call on other partners of the public and private sectors to support such initiatives in order to make the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country more dynamic.

“In terms of support, we can confirm that the various programmes that are located in our ministry and under the SME promotion agency, will be put at the disposal of the young entrepreneurs who were awarded prizes here this evening,” the minister said.
