Ebolowa Regional Hospital: Pioneer management committee charged to boost healthcare.

The Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie, has called on the pioneer management committee of the Ebolowa Regional Hospital in Ebolowa, South Region, to strive to boost healthcare in that part of the country.



The member of government made the appeal recently while installing the members. Dr Manaouda challenged the team led by Mve Elemeva Emmanuel, who is President of the South Regional Council to work hard and ensure probity.

He used the event to remind the team of the challenges ahead. Appointed through a ministerial decision of October 26, 2023, Dr Manaouda charged the members to work in unity.

Besides the need for unity, the minister called on the team to adopt a budget feasible budget, monitor its execution; approve the administrative and management accounts; institutes guidelines on the running of the hospital; approve investment and development plans; recruitment among others and forward to hierarchy. 

To Dr Manaouda, the team must strive for balance between rigour and speed in the running of the health facility. The health facility, he told them, must be managed with priority on saving lives.

The ceremony, he said, was equally an opportunity not only to express gratitude to the Head of State, President Paul Biya, but also to show appreciation for what he has been doing to the population of the South.

Other members of the team are: Bidjang Robert Mathurin, Gouda Joseph jean Claudel, Ngo Ngoa Hermine Géraldine, Edjo Daniel, Edzimbi Annick, Laure, Bilo Lydienne Lesly, Abe Essomba Aimé and Mbila Mathias Etounde.

The minister said hierarchy is counting on their rich experiences to ensure the Ebolowa Regional Hospital makes a real contribution to the transformation of the healthcare system in the country.

The rich and colourful ceremony took place in the presence of the Governor of the South Region, Felix Nguele Nguele, local administrative, political and religious authorities as well as the population.

The Ebolowa Regional Hospital is a second category public hospital. The architectural gem boasts state-of-the-art technology and a capacity of 118 beds in 20 wards. 

The hospital is dedicated to gynecology and pediatrics, and is positioned as a sub-regional benchmark for endoscopic surgery.
