Speaking at the large gathering attended by members of the elite of Fako Division, administrative, religious and traditional authorities, the Magistrate-turned politician urged the people of the area to recommit themselves to national unity.
Hon Malomba told the people of Tiko to use the period of the festival, which ran from December 13 -15, to think deeply about the need to shun divisive tendencies and foster living together, which he described, as dear to the Head of State.

He also called on all citizens to join hands to ensure that the country’s unity was maintained
As citizens, Hon Malomba, who heads the Parliamentary Network on Safety, insisted said: “We should stand together against those preaching division and violence. Our diversity is a source of strength and our common humanity is a threat to those who want us divided. Let us be uncompromising about maintaining peace and promoting harmony”.
He quickly added that: “What you see happening in Tiko today, is testament of those who really keep the vision, the policy and the wishes of the Head of State, President Paul Biya. This is living together simplified and we must give all the credits to the mayor and the people of Tiko…you have seen all the cultures from the region and beyond manifested here. What has happened here is one of the greatest achievements of our Head of State”.
Meanwhile, commenting on the Tiko get-together, Senator Mbella Moki Charles, who was amongst high profile guests at the event, said the initiative was laudable. He heaped praises on the Mayor of Tiko, Chief Peter Mesoso Ikome, for organising the jamboree.

“As traditional rulers, do not accept any forces of division. I want to strongly stand here to condemn all the malpractices by some of our traditional rulers when it comes to looking for possibilities to create violence amongst our communities over issues of land,” the Tiko Chief Executive bemoaned.
The Divisional Officer, emphasised the role of traditional rulers in community development, before urging them to be visible instruments of progress.
“I am equally joining us here to say as traditional rulers, you people need to uphold culture. Through culture, we can uphold peace, unity, love…” he added.
