Christmas, New Year feasts: The Fomunyoh Foundation donates to Anglophone crisis IDPs.

The Executive Director of The Fomunyoh Foundation, Prof Elisabeth Tamajong, who handed over the food items to the beneficiaries on behalf of its Founder, Dr Christopher Fomunyoh, said the initiative falls in line with the humanitarian mission of the organisation.
“One of the objectives of The Fomunyoh Foundation is humanitarian activities-that is helping the less privileged, the poor, the marginalised in the society and this is Christmas coming. This is a period of sharing, love, unity, solidarity and hope as we prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ. What we are doing here today is actually in line with our objectives and Christian doctrine,” TFF Executive Director said.
On the choice of the families selected to benefit from the donation, Prof Tamanjong said they had to work with one other organisation, Heroes Association, to identify IDPs who really need assistance.
“You know in our country, there are IDPs and people passing for IDPs. So, we had to go to areas where we know that there are IDP families residing there and actually identified those who fall in this group, before they were retained for the donation,” she stated.
“You have families of up to 10 persons and they can barely feed, so we thought that we could offer them just the little we have to share during this season,” she added. 
Prof Tamajong also presented The Fomunyoh Foundation message of hope for the underprivileged and distressed persons during this Christmas season.
“The message from our President, Dr Christopher Fomunyoh, is for them to have hope and also to make them know that there’s still life ahead. That is why we are calling on them to count on TFF to help put smiles on their faces,” the TFF Executive Director said. 
She said the foundation has been doing a lot in terms of support to children who cannot afford their school needs, widows, youth empowerment as well as education on right abuses.
She presented some six IDP girls currently being trained in tailoring and embroidery at the TFF’s Youth Empowerment Centre in Yaounde. 
Prof Tamanjong announced more openings for youth displaced by the Anglophone crisis to be offered free training at the centre with just a registration of 5,000FCFA.

Beneficiaries say grateful
The families that benefitted from the food items, said they were grateful to Dr Christopher Fomunyoh, who through his foundation, thought of sharing with them during at Christmas.
One of them, Yambong Enita, said it can only take a person with a good heart to be able to share with others.
“It takes a lot for someone to be able to bring people together and share with them, nor matter how small it is. I want to thank the founder of The Fomunyoh Foundation and say God should bless him for thinking about those in crisis. God should keep providing for him and use this as a point of contact to bless his family, Yambong said.
Another beneficiary described Dr Fomunyoh as someone with a heart of gold and thanked him for using his foundation to put smiles on the faces of those in difficult situations.
“Some of us here, especially me, I’m going through a lot. It’s not easy having a square meal a day, talkless of feeding my children. I can only say with what we have received today, it is a blessing. It takes grace for someone to do something like this. We pray for more open doors for this foundation,” the IDP mother detailed.
