State Property Minister recommits to leading national dev’t drive.

The minister made the announcement in Yaoundé Tuesday, November 14. This was during MINDCAF’s expanded meeting to mobilise its officials at the centralised and devolved services around government’s 2023-2024 priority projects and the ownership of the state draft budget for the 2024 financial year.

According to the minister, the ministry will continue stepping up its game to ensure that issues like the illegal occupation of state land, mismanagement of state properties and other unscrupulous practices slowing the state’s drive towards ultimate development, are fully sorted out efficiently. 

MINDCAF, under the stewardship of Minister Eyebe Ayissi, during the gathering, evaluated the ground covered by the ministry, with focus, amongst others, on the strides made by the ministry in the last five years in ensuring the efficient management of the country’s resources in the sector. 

Authorities most especially strategised on how to better position and equip the ministry in its continuous efforts geared toward enabling the state to make maximum profits from its landed and similar properties, especially during the 2024 financial year which was under preview at the gathering. 

“Contributing to SND30 among top priorities”

Minister Eyebe Ayissi, in an interview after the start of the meeting, described the two-day gathering as a timely and strategic come-together. 

He said the meeting will give the ministry a good roadmap in its plans to continue playing frontline roles in the Head of State’s development drive, notably through the realisation of the 2020-2030 National Development Strategy, SND30, which is one of its top priorities.  

“We are expected to contribute greatly to the country’s national income. We have to work hard to ensure the provision of land for the realisation of national developmental projects. That is the way through which we can contribute greatly to the 2020-2030 National Development Strategy Plan,” Minister Eyebe Ayissi stated. 

He said the ministry is looking forward to doubling its efforts at all levels to ensure the goal is attained by ensuring the staff give their all to facilitate a stellar delivery of their tasks while also making good use of the ministry’s steps to optimise its services across the board. 

“The expectation is that we should contribute greatly to the various development projects. Our staff are called to be conscious in the delivery of their services so that we can continue improving as much as possible,” the minister added. 

“At the same time, we are working and trying to promote the optimisation of MINDCAF at all levels. We are working on improving efficiency at the level of the centralised and external services,” he detailed.

Prioritising continuous partnerships with ministries 

Besides maximising opportunities at the level of the ministry through its centralised and external services, Minister Eyebe Ayissi also announced that the ministry is looking forward to continuously having good working relationships with partner ministries and institutions to ensure its goals are attained hitch-free. 

He, amongst others, cited the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform as examples of the structures MINDCAF smoothly opens its arms to for a winning synergy aimed at attaining the Head of State’s already blossoming project of having a prosperous Cameroon. 

“We are working on ensuring that our collaborators have excellent managerial performances and good behavioural patterns. We believe in the spirit of working in synergy at the level of the ministry and partner institutions and ministries like the Ministry of Public Service, which is, amongst others, in charge of managing our human resources,” Eyebe Ayissi said. 

“Our conviction is that sharing information on the expectations of the state, will contribute to a better implementation of the policy of President Paul Biya, which is that of great opportunities in the domain of land, other state properties and other services,” he added. 

Revisiting strides made in last five years

During the start of the two-day gathering, Minister Eyebe Ayissi also revisited the strides made by the Ministry of State Property, Surveys and Land Tenure in the last five years of his stewardship as the head of the ministry. 

According to the member of the government, the ministry has since 2019, when he took over the command baton, made tremendous strides in improving the sector, notably through the handling of land crisis, regulating the issuance of land certificates, fighting the mismanagement of state properties and the fight against corruption.
