FEICOM, UNICEF renovate, equip ENIEG Bertoua computer centre.

The renovated and upgraded facility was handed over to officials of ENIEG Bertoua recently. This was in the presence of officials of FEICOM and UNICEF as well as those from the beneficiary institution.

The renovated laboratory was equipped with some 25 computers, 50 digital tablets and 24 bench-tops. 

The donation according to officials, falls in line with the implementation of the Educational Technology Innovation, ED-TECH FEICOM UNICEF programme. 

The scheme seeks to promote a modern, inclusive and integrated educational system that advances socio-economic development.

According to officials of the ED-TECH FEICOM-UNICEF programme, the schools in rural areas are expected to benefit digital learning equipment and infrastructure to match up with what obtains in urban centres.

ED-TECH FEICOM-UNICEF aims to promote a modern, inclusive and integrated education system with focus on providing learners a clean and conducive learning environment.

The programme has this far benefited learners in communities like Bertoua I, Bertoua II, Garoua Boulai, Mandjou and Ngoura. 

What has been done this far in most cases is the construction and renovation of classrooms, offices and the equipment of such with modern information and communication technologies, ICT tools.

Government has through muti-sectoral partnerships such as those between FEICOM and several organisations been focused on improving the teaching-learning process.

Leverage ICTs in education is one of the focus of the government’s 235 emmergence vision. 

Most educational communities in rural areas face the challenge of poor infrastructure and the near absence of modern tools such as ICTs that can put learners and teachers on the same knowledge acquisition and transmission level with their peers in urban areas.
