Unimaginable cruelty: Amba fighters publicly execute two men in Guzang!.

The macabre incident, which occurred in the evening hours of Wednesday October 4, is said to have left the entire population of Batibo in fear, shock and disbelief.

According to information gathered from sources in the locality, the heavily armed men stormed the area and brutally captured two men, whose names The Guardian Post got as Ndi Hansel and Aburo Cletus.

Accused of being informants to security forces, the two were taken to a junction and publicly executed by the said gunmen, who are identified as "armed terrorists "by the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of Momo

Sources said the fighters forced inhabitants of the area, including family members of the victims, to gather and watch them raining bullets on the two victims.

In a video widely circulating on social media, a voice is heard, informing the crowd to “take your eyes and see what will happen to these two people”. 

The same voice had claimed that the two individuals were informants.

He added that their public execution was a warning to others who they claim take delight in volunteering information to security forces about their hideouts and activities.

In the same video that The Guardian Post obtained on social media, one of the victims dressed in red attire was seen pointing his finger in denial to the allegations brought before them.

But he was not allowed the opportunity to plead his innocence.

One of the fighters was heard in the video saying: “Tell yi mek ei come carry their corpses”. He immediately ordered his peers to open fire on the two victims. Without any waste of time, the fighters took turns to rain bullets on the victims. 

We also gathered that the act has caused many to flee the neighborhood for fear of the unknown. The public killing of the two has been widely condemned.

Barbaric, unacceptable 

In an outing yesterday, the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of Momo Division, condemned the killing of the two civilians in Guzang.

In a statement, the SDO, Fouda Etaba Benoit, described the act as "barbaric and unacceptable ".

Fouda Etaba however assured that security forces were investigating the matter.

"In these said circumstances, the SDO for Momo reprehend in strong terms, this barbaric and unacceptable act of violence, perpetrated in violation of human rights on unarmed civilians" he said.

He then recounted that a group of armed terrorists invaded Guzang on October 4 and kidnapped two civilians from their houses and shot them to death at the Guzang Market Square.

He has called on the population of the area to fully collaborate with administrative authorities and the forces of law and order. This, he said, will help in the investigation process which aims to ensure a return of peace to the Division.
