Um Nyobe’s widow dies same date he was assassinated.

The wife of the late nationalist, reportedly passed away on Wednesday, September 13. Her demise coincided with the 65th anniversary of the assassination of her husband, Ruben Um Nyobe.

It should be recalled that her late husband was assassinated on September 13, 1958, in the locality of Boumnyebel.

Meanwhile, the demise of Marie Um Nyobe was officially confirmed by her son, Daniel Ruben Um Nyobe.

In a press release, the son wrote: "The family of Mpodol Ruben Um Nyobe, the great Nlog Ngond family, the great Ndog family announce with pain, the death of Mrs Marie Um Nyobe née Ngo Ndjock Yebga Marie. She died on September 13, 2023, at the CNPS hospital in Essos-Yaounde, following an illness. The program of the funeral will be communicated to you later".

An aborigine of the village of Libel Li Ngoy, in the Ngog Mapubi Subdivision, Nyong-and-Kelle Division of the Centre Region, Marie Um Nyobe, got married to Ruben Um Nyobe in 1956. The nationalist lived with Marie Ngo Ndjock Yebga until his death.
