Rehabilitation of Kumba-Tombel-Loum road: Meme 1C CPDM Section President thanks Biya.

She made the remarks following the launch of the second phase of the rehabilitation works, from Kumba to Etam, which kicked off on Thursday July 6.

Visibly elated with the advancement of works, Barrister Victorine Esuka Balike, who doubles as First Deputy City Mayor of the Kumba City Council, thanked the President of the Republic for matching words with action.

“We, the people of the Meme I C of the ruling CPDM party, are so happy with the commencement of works, which will help to open up the municipality and our farmers will be able to take their produce to the market...,” the Section President stated.

The levelheaded politician, who is also councillor of the Kumba III Council, and Queen Mother of Mukonje village, said she will do everything within her powers to rally all the living forces in Meme IC to throw their weight behind their national champion, President Paul Biya, as a show of gratitude.

Barrister Victorine Esuka Balike, equally thanked the Minister of Public Works for thinking about Kumba III Subdivision. To her, the road, apart from being of major economic importance to the population of the area, is also providing employment opportunities to the youth.

According to Barrister Victorine Balike, the road project will also help the youth make some money with which they will cater for their needs.

The Section President called on young people to get involved in the development of the Subdivision and abandon the fruitless course for succession, which she said has brought nothing but trouble, destruction and embarrassment amongst other things to the administrative unit. 

Barrister Victorine Balike, who was accompanied by the Youth President of her Section, also used the occasion to advise youth who are still to believe in the development strides of President Biya, especially those in the bushes fighting for an imaginary nation, to give peace a chance, drop their arms and join the DDR Centres created by the Head of State. 

While launching the second phase of the Kumba-Tombe-Loum road rehabilitation, the SDO for Meme, Ntou'ou Ndong Chamberlin, called on the population of Mambanda and villages along the road to give their maximum collaboration to the technicians in order to see to it that the project is successfully executed.

The maintenance works along the over 33-km road is being carried out by the South West Development Authority, SOWEDA. The road is estimated to cost 900 million FCFA.
