For outstanding services: Labour minister knights 198 Essoka Security employees.

The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Gregoire Owona, has awarded labour medals of honour to some 198 staff of leading private security service company, Essoka Security Limited, for their outstanding services.

The mark of recognition was conferred on the assiduous and exemplary employees Monday July 3. This was during an award ceremony which took place at the Yaounde City Hall.

The Minister awarded the medals to the staff on behalf of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.

Present at the event were the Governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea; the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO of Mfoundi, Emmanuel Mariel Djikdent; as well as the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Essoka Security, Nsoh Joseph.

Also in attendance were some members of the diplomatic corps, clients, partners, guests and the recipients of the awards drawn from the various regions of the country.

The 198 deserving staff received a total of 287 labour medals in the category of Gold, Silver-gilt and Silver. The workers were awarded for their “determination and unflinching loyalty to the State and the company in particular”.

According to Minister Gregoire Owona, the labour medals are to celebrate the professional excellence of deserving staff of Essoka Security.

The minister lauded the staff, who through unmatched services, have made Essoka Security a reference in Cameroon security sector.

 

Medals fruit of professionalism, discipline

Gregoire Owona reminded the recipients that, “the labour medals of honour are the fruit of professionalism, discipline, self-sacrifice”.

He appealed to the staff to remain loyal to the country and be role models for others. “This mark of recognition from the entire nation on behalf of the President of the Republic requires you to be faithful and loyal to our country and to set an example for your colleagues and families,” the minister added.

The minister urged the management of Essoka Security to continue in their actions of improving working conditions of its workers in the domain of health, and insurance.

“I therefore urge you despite the operational challenges and despite the general socio-economic and security context, to stay professional and performant,” Minister Owona stated.

Essoka Security promoting decent work

The member of government also reassured the management of Essoka Security of government’s support when need arises. 

“You have my full appreciation for the commitment you have made to implement the inter-professional minimal wage. It proves you are helping to put into practice the government’s policy of promoting decent work,” the labour minister indicated.

He also stated that: “The government which remains attentive to your grievance will do everything in its power to provide you with a wide range support”.

It should be recalled that since its creation in 1998, Essoka Security has provided top-notch security services to its varied clientele nationwide. 

Essoka Security, has greatly contributed in reducing the rate of unemployment in the country. The security company of acclaimed reputable standard, employs hundreds of Cameroonians. 

 

Essoka CEO lauds staff’s devotion

Speaking earlier, the CEO of Essoka Security, Nsoh Joseph, said he was proud to have loyal and committed employees.

Nsoh revealed that despite the spate of challenges that the company was confronted with, they persevered and remained steadfast.

He invited the meritorious staff to inspire themselves from their recent feat. The CEO said the medals will serve as motivation for other colleagues and potential employees.  

“Let the medals as well as the new minimum wage, SMIG, which comes to improve your remuneration be a great source of motivation,” Nsoh said, urging them to remain more productive to guarantee a bright future.

He went further to add that, “we hope that your medal award will continue to inspire you as well serve as inspiration to your colleagues and those who will join Essoka Security in future”. 

The CEO of Essoka Security also seized the occasion to call on the government to facilitate the payment of bills and give subvention to private security companies.

Meritorious staff pledge to work harder

According to the Director of Human Resources, Nyieta Napoleon Nji, who received medals in Silver, Silver-gilt and Gold, the acknowledgment will serve as an added incentive at work.

Another Silver and Silver-gilt recipient, Odette Ayanga Chia, said the event was prove that Essoka Security has them at heart. She promised to redouble efforts at work and called on her colleagues to follow the same path.
