Speaking to The Guardian Post after receiving the medal, Adamu Musa, expressed “gratitude to God for life, good health, and a good family” and to “authorities who proposed me to the Head of State for this distinction”.

“I think firstly of His Excellency, Governor Francis Fai Yengo, National Coordinator of the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Committee (NDDRC), for playing the lead role in this honorary award. Our work at the NDDRC depends a lot on team spirit. In this regard, I also give a vote of thanks to my colleagues and collaborators, the forces of law and order, the general public and the media for the invaluable assistance we receive from them in doing our work,” he said.

He knows about our work and how committed we are when it comes to uplifting and defending the name of our country. In short, President Biya knows how much love we have for our country, and he knows that some of us are ready to go to all lengths to keep our country united, strong and prosperous,” Adamu Musa stated.

Adamu Musa called on Cameroonians to at this point where the country is at the cross-roads of its history “make the right choices in all we do, to love our country unconditionally, to eschew all forms of discrimination, and to work selflessly for the unity, strength and prosperity of our dear and beautiful fatherland”.
