Nfon Mukete IV bags another award for selfless service to humanity.

The traditional ruler was handed the award Saturday June 24 in Kumba. The award was presented by members of the Organising Committee of the annual The Scoop Media Achievement Awards.

The award night, it was gathered, took place May 14, at the Buea Mountain Hotel. Absent at the event, Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko was handed his award during Saturday’s ceremony in Kumba. The ceremony in Kumba was attended by members of the Kumba Traditional Council and some notables. 

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of The Scoop Media Group, Larry Esong, applauded Nfon Mukete for his matchless contribution to the socioeconomic development of the City of Kumba.

He also lauded the traditional ruler for putting Jesus Christ first at the center of his actions.

"…your donation to the orphanages, the widows and your open door policy are what captured the attention of readers and members of the jury to select you as the most dynamic and charismatic traditional ruler of the year…,” Esong stated.

The newspaper publisher went down memory lane, tracing the Nfon's exploits in just a little over three years on the throne. He praised his inputs in bringing the former Turkish Ambassador of Cameroon to Kumba. 

He recalled that during the maiden edition of The Scoop Awards, the Nfon was resourceful in the organisation of the event. 

Esong said the Nfon, back then, a young prince, had worked closely with the Organising Committee for the success of the event.

Meanwhile, the 2^nd Deputy Mayor of Kumba II; Chibili Vivian, who handed over the award to the Nfon, on behalf of members of the Organising Committee, said she was very delighted to present such a prestigious prize to the monarch, whom she described as an iconic traditional ruler.

She said the Nfon has done so much for his people in such a short time on the throne. Chibili hailed the Senator for being behind the unity currently reigning amongst mayors in Meme Division. The municipal authority said Nfon Mukete is a shining example to young people around the South West Region and beyond.

Speaking further, she thanked the monarch for the excellent relationship existing between mayors of Kumba and the Nfon's palace.

In his acceptance speech during the ceremony, Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko, thanked The Scoop Media Group for choosing him for the prestigious award. 

While dedicating the award to God, the traditional ruler challenged the media across Africa to continue to shine the positive image of the continent.
