Anglophone business mogul, philanthropist, Pa Menyoli, dies!.

Renowned Buea-based Anglophone businessman and philanthropist, Dr Charles Namme Menyoli, has died from undisclosed illness.

The serial entrepreneur and community developer died yesterady at an advanced age, according to family sources.

It was learnt that Pa Menyoli, as he was affectionately called, died after battling with a protracted illness.

The Buea-based billionaire businessman and Chief Executive Officer, CEO of Fako Ship chain of businesses, had since quietly withdrawn from public life before his demise.

Described as a quintessence personality, the death of the business magnate, investor and philanthropist, has thrown the South West Region and the entire nation into a state of mourning.

Several persons have been taking to social media to pay him their last respect.

In an outing on WhatsApp yesterday morning, politician and Member of the House of Senate, Mbella Moki Charles, described the demise of Pa Menyoli as the fall of a baobab. 

He simply wrote: “The Elephant of Buea is no more”.

In a similar outing, University don, Prof Ernest Molua, described the now late Pa Menyoli, as a great man who lived an accomplished life.

“The Lion has returned to the Forest. May Mr Menyoli’s soul rest in perfect peace. He was a great man of our time. Journey well Tata,” wrote the University official and native of Fako.

For his part, newspaper publisher, Embola Charles, described the late Pa Menyoli, as “One of the greatest entrepreneurs who trod past two generations with zeal, confidence, faith and generosity”.

“This was a man gifted with multiple talents which he so efficiently developed,” added Embola, who immediately said “his generosity was boundless and yielded him acclaim as well as material and spiritual rewards”.

“A clear example of a man who never gave up in the face of several adversities. Unfortunately, his autobiography will be buried with him. Let’s hope that one day, someone will immortalise this rare character for the benefit of posterity,” he concluded.

Another social media user simply added: “Your generosity was boundless. God giveth, God taketh. Thanks to be God”.

Pa Menyoli, it should be said, was a multi billionaire and owner of chain of businesses in Buea and beyond.

Amongst other investments, the late Pa Menyoli, was owner of renowned Buea-based lodging facility, Mermoz Hotel, Mermoz Banquet Hall and Fako Shipping Lines. 

He also owned super markets and banks. A devote Presbyterian Church Christian, Pa Menyoli was a philanthropist. He single- handedly constructed churches and handed to communities.

In 2008, the School of Theology and Seminary Fullness of Grace Foundation International Association, conferred on Pa Menyoli, a Doctor Honoris Causa on Excellence in Business. 

He was conferred the title in recognition of his enviable achievements in business and excellent service to God and humanity.

In 2021, the PCC rewarded him for his outstanding works to the church, the PCC and to the entire Christendom.

 

Pa Menyoli bagged several awards. He had to his credit; Gold Star Award for Quality and Efficiency from London, England. 

He also bagged awards from Switzerland, a Diamond Award from France and another award from Spain. 

Back at home, he obtained recognitions for his work, especially from the Church.

“I believe that if you are with God and you work very hard, God is going to make you rich. I am a very rich man and very happy. I am happy with the government of Cameroon that has recognised me severally, with medals of Honour and Valour. People admire what I am doing,” Pa Menyoli is quoted as having once said.
