CSPH GM offers new palm oil processing mill to Nguti population.

The population of Nguti, in Kupe-Muanenguba Division of the South West Region, has heaped praises on one of their illustrious elite, Okie Johnson Ndoh, for spearheading the construction of a palm oil processing mill, which will help small holders in the production of palm oil in the administrative unit.

Known as Sinke Plantations Ltd Agro-Industrial Oil Mill, the facility, located in Mboka, a village in Nguti, was officially opened for use on Friday May 19, 2023.

The Divisional Officer, DO of Nguti, Etengeneng Kevin Oben, inaugurated the mill. The administrator was full of praises for the Director General of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilisation Fund, CSPH, Okie Johnson for such a giant initiative.

While lauding his enormous contribution to Nguti’s development, the government official stated that Okie is one with an opened door policy and listening ear to the plight of the population of his area. He urged other sons and daughters of the Subdivision to emulate Okie’s example.

Speaking during the event, the Chief of Mboka, Tuku Bisong, recalled that the setting up of the palm oil mill has been in the pipeline since 2005.

The traditional ruler outlined the spinoffs of the oil mill to the population of the area and beyond, citing the creation of job opportunities, especially for the youths in the area, training of farmers and the subsequent production of soap, cosmetic and fertilisers.

Chief Tuku Bisonh was particularly thankful to Okie Johnson Ndoh, for his love for his people and for creating the palm oil mill in his native town Mboka.

The Chief expressed his wish for the population, especially small holders, to make use of the oil mill.

He however frowned at those grabbing native land for their personal benefits rather than the general interest of the village and community.

According to the Mayor of Nguti, Tong George Enoh, the palm oil processing mill, will go a long way to create employment, encourage small holders’ scheme, open up new markets, among other benefits.

“This palm oil mill will help improve economic activities in the Subdivision and also help farmers in generating income,” Mayor Tong Enoh said.

The Member of Parliament for Kupe-Muanenguba II Constituency, Chief Hon Dr Fonge Julius and the President of the National Caretaker Committee of the Nguti Cultural Development Association, NGUSCUDA, Prince Mabengue Leonard Junior, were also among speakers at the event.

Hon Dr Fonge said God didn't make a mistake for Okie Johnson Ndoh, to be born in Mboka, adding that his light should continue to illuminate the Subdivision and God will help him to come out with more and more projects for his people.

Speaking on behalf of the General Manager of Sinke Plantation Ltd Agro-Industrial Oil Mill, Etuba Kevin, recalled the importance of the project, within and without Cameroon. He went on to appeal to the people of Mboka and Nguti in general to make judicious use of the facility.

The Sinke Palm Oil Mill is expected to produce 8,000 litres of oil daily as well as 40 tons of palm nuts a day. For a start, the mill has five permanent and ten temporal workers, with the possibility of employing more in the near future.

The technical staff of the oil mill later led the population on a guided tour of the mill. That was after the cutting of the inauguration ribbon by the DO of Nguti.
