Training of world class project managers: Vecademy Institute re-launches courses May 16.

Leading institution in training for international certifications and diplomas in technology, management and languages that offers project management courses, Vecademy Institute, is set to relaunch its courses May 16.

The disclosure was made by the Director of Training and Development, Eunice Agwe. The institution is located in Bastos, Yaounde. She was interviewed by The Guardian Post.

In the interview, she zoomed on strides made by the institution in the past five years in the training of project managers for both Certified Associate in Project Management, CAPM and Project management Professional, PMP, certifications.

She also touched on the importance of project management for any organisation that wants to deliver successful projects on time to take advantage of the training programs offered by the institute.

“The next start date for our courses is May 16, 2023. The duration of our courses is eight weeks (twice a week) and with new classes every two months,” Agwe disclosed.

The two-month training, Agwe said, is for everybody, especially project managers, project team members and planners. She said the training seeks to help senior managers as well as beginners advance their careers.

The CAMP (for beginners) and PMP (for those already in project management field) certifications, Agwe said, are among the top three project management certifications which help trainees level up internationally. She added that it is used to validate expertise.

She said those aspiring to become project managers can come from any field, possess any college degree or high school training as long as they meet the criteria to enroll for the exam.

The CAPM, she added, “is an entry-level certification designed to prepare candidates for positions in project management, while the PMP is a credential for project managers with at least three years of experience in project management”.

These certifications, the official disclosed, “are important for project managers because they demonstrate their knowledge and skills in applying the best practices of project management, increase their recognition and credibility in the global market, as well as their chances of getting hired, promoted, or paid more as project managers”.

Agwe also highlighted the multiform benefits of getting the aforementioned certifications from Vecademy Institute, including very qualified instructors with years of experience in teaching, management and consultancy.

She cited access to high-quality training courses that cover all the topics that are tested on the exams, as well as provide tips and tricks to ace trainees, access to study materials, mock exams, practice questions, and personalised feedback from experienced trainers that have over 15 years of training and practical experience working on projects in organisations.

Agwe also mentioned that classes are both online and onsite, providing flexibility to study where trainees choose to, added to access to the institute’s state-of-the-art facilities that include modern classrooms, laboratories, equipment and software.

Further harping on benefits of getting the aforementioned certifications from Vecademy Institute, Agwe indicated that all classes are recorded on the institute’s online platform for review in case a student misses out on something vital. She said there are also access to network of alumni and industry partners that can help trainees with their career development and “access to our flexible scheduling options that allow trainees to choose the time and mode of learning that suits their needs”.

She said in the last five years, they have trained at least 300 people from across the globe. The trainees, she added, were drawn from both public and private institutions, diplomatic services and other walks of life.

The Director of Training and Development also said their trainees who are job seekers are not only exposed to opportunities but are placed on internships with international organisations.

“Everyone who gets trained in project management typically experiences a salary increase of about 40% in their different milieus. It is a way of distinguishing one’s self from the madding crowd of persons passing for project managers,” she said.

Agwe pointed that the training is also being embraced by those with degrees in project management so as to get additional certification and international recognition of their expertise.

Quizzed on the cost of the training, Agwe disclosed that for PMP certification, trainees are to pay 400,000 FCFA which includes study material.

The amount, she assured, could be paid in installments compared to a minimum of 1500 dollars that people pay in different milieus without access to training material.

On future projects, she said they hope to organise a weeklong intensive training onsite for interested persons in addition to the diploma programs they offer.

Detailing how registration to the institute can be done, Agwe indicated that aspiring project managers can enroll in their institution’s courses by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to 650274877 or 693420100.

Other inquiries for registration, she added, can be gotten through the institution’s website, Vecademy.com or by contacting them via email at apply@vecademy.com.
