At Labour Day celebration: Access Bank Country Head urges staff to embrace teamwork, commitment.

Workers of Cameroon’s best-customer service financial institution, Access Bank Cameroon Plc, have been urged to be committed and to embrace teamwork. The Country Head of the financial institution, Ellis Nzo Asu, made the appeal in Douala Monday May 1.

This was during a reception organised for Access Bank staff to mark the celebration of the 137 edition of the International Labour Day.

This year’s edition was under the theme: “Resilience and Decent Work: Acting Together in the World of Work to Improve Living Conditions and Social Inclusion”.

Addressing workers during the ceremony, the Access Bank Cameroon Country Head, encouraged them to “act together as a team in order to stimulate productivity, profitability, innovation and effective leadership”.

Nzo Asu told staff of the institution that: “The ability to work together by putting in the same energy and commitment to achieve the same goals are skills highly recommended in professional life”.

The bank’s Country Head said he “stands for unity and togetherness and believes that taking ownership of your responsibilities during crises brings out the best in professionals, as it pushes them to work harder to make the difference”.

He also reiterated the need for every staff member to have an entrepreneurial mindset, think win-win and always begin with the end in mind.

In a similar light, the Access Bank Cameroon’s Deputy Managing Director, DMD, Ugochukwu Irechukwu, also challenged Access Bank Cameroon’s usually welcoming and devoted staff to form strong work partnerships with one another to bring out competitive and outstanding results”.

“…we are one, we are a team and as we step out with this energy, I am very convinced that we will win in the market,” Ugochukwu said.

The bank’s incoming Staff Delegates on their part, “acknowledged staff contribution in ensuring the future of the Bank”.

“…by equipping our Cameroon market with excellent customer service, delivery and products that they need to succeed in their business operations while making the bank profitable,” they said.

In the spirit of celebrating the 137th edition of the International Labour Day, Access Bank Cameroon staff also reminded one another about the importance of coming together to improve social inclusion.

The Labour Day party served as a cocktail of bonding, games, quizzes and speeches that reminded staff of the importance of teamwork and commitment.
