Guinness Super League: Lekie Filles dominate best XI of championship’s first phase.

Centre Region women’s topflight club, Lekie Football Filles, have dominated the starting 11 of the first phase of the 2022/2023 Guinness Super League. The women’s football league on Thursday April 6, released the best XI of the championship during the first phase which rounded off last month.

The team from the Lekie Division commands the roaster with five of the best XI, only followed by Authentic Ladies of Douala with two players. 

Two of the three forwards listed on the team, Brenda Tabe and Raissa Nnanga come from the Lekie Football Filles team which is currently leading the Guinness Super League ahead of Éclair Football Filles.

Tabe and Nnanga who are both currently in camp with the U23 women’s national team in Morocco, had an 18-goal contribution in the first round of the championship. 

The two scored a total of nine goals each during the phase.

The duo is accompanied in the attack line by Louves MINPROFF forward, Priso Ndongo. 

Ndongo scored six goals in the course of the first phase to power Louves to a comfortable top-four ranking. 

Similar domination in midfield

Lekie Filles’ domination is felt is further confirmed in the midfield area with two of the three players selected in the; Ngah Manga and Njock. 

Playmaker, Manga who also operates as a forward, scored 8 goals in round one of the championship. 

She partnered with the Tabe and Nnanga duo to form a combined 25goal contribution in the first phase.

Nnanga and Njock are accompanied in the zone by Shalom Tim Makoma of Authentic Ladies of Douala. 

Lekie Filles rounded up its domination at the defense through the very versatile defensive sensation, Moumazim Michelle Brigitte. 

Moumazim is paired in the area by Authentic Ladies’ Sinwi Manuela, Annecy Guiadem of FC Ebolowa and experienced right back, Adjidja.

The 11 of the first-round is completed by 15-year-old, Awa Filles goalkeeper, Chelsea Ngole. 

The team of the first phase was released by the women’s football league after evaluating the performances of the various players in the championship during the first round. 

Celebrating the finest

Five of the players on the list, Ngole Chelsea, Annecy Guiadem, Raissa Nnanga, Priso Ndong, Makoma Shaloma and Ngah Manga won the prestigious player of the match, the Guinnessico award at least once during the first phase.

The lead trainer of the team is Lekie Filles’ Stephane Ndzana celebrated for his tactical know-how which led to Lekie Filles ending the first phase unbeaten in the championship after 10 games.

The second round of the Guinness Super League officially gets underway tomorrow April 8. 

It will open with the game pitting Ngadeu Football Filles and AS Fortuna in a day 12 fixture at the Stade Oumar Stadium in Ngaoundere. 

The opening day of the second phase will continue on Monday April 10 with Caiman of Douala hosting Awa Filles at the Annex II of the Japoma Stadium in Douala. 

FC Ebolowa will face Authentic Ladies at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in Odza. 

Other games in the championship have been postponed due to the involvement of a number of players in the championship on international duty with the U23 women’s team.
