Ahead of upcoming elections: Minister Mbah Acha drums massive voter registration in Momo.

Traditional rulers and supporters of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM, party in Momo Division of the North West Region, have been urged to massively enroll on the voter’s register ahead of upcoming elections.

The call was made by Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam, President of the CPDM Central Committee and Permanent Divisional Delegation of Momo, who doubles as Minister Delegate at the Presidency of the Republic in Charge of the Supreme State Audit Office.

It was during a two-day dialogue and consultation meeting in Bamenda, on Friday April 19 and 20, with supporters of the political party.

The meeting brought together CPDM Section Presidents, Mayors, Fons, Senators and Members of Parliament from Momo Division.

It took place under the theme: "CPDM Momo militants for massive registration on voter's register".

According to Minister Mbah Acha, she traveled from Yaounde to galvanise the party supporters from all the Subdivisions of Momo Division, to listen to their challenges and to engage them in voter registration process.

"If all the executives of these basic organs are registered, then we are sure that we are going to win. That is my message, get them registered. If you don't register, then you can't vote. And if you don't vote, then you haven't performed your civic duty," Mbah Acha said.

Day two of the come-together with traditional rulers focused on engaging them on how they can easily get the population of their villages to enroll on the electoral register.

It was also an opportunity for Minister Mbah Acha and the traditional rulers to discuss on ways to bring back peace and normalcy to the entire Momo Division.

The traditional rulers were equally enjoined to champion back-to-school initiatives in their communities, so that all schools can resume in Momo Division in the next academic year.

"I told them the purpose of my mission, which is for us to put our heads together for peace and normalcy to return to our Division. I also told them that they should start thinking of how to return to their palaces and should do everything for schools to resume in their Fondoms," Minister Mbah Acha told the press.

For his part, Senator Enwe Francis told the Section Presidents to register valuable voters and not those who will not support the party when their support is needed.

The Senator also hinted on the importance of the youth, stating that one of their targets should be the youth.

The meeting was also an avenue for the elite of Momo Division to listen to worries from their representatives on the ground in order to attend to them.
